KEMA-Powertest - USA.

KEMA-Powertest, Inc. is the largest high power electrical testing laboratory in the United States providing electrical power, dielectric and mechanical testing services to a variety of clients from industry and utilities since 1969. It wants to serve the America’s and overseas and grow to accommodate new demands. This KEMA lab is located in Chalfont, PA.  

As part of KEMA's Transmission and Distribution testing group, KEMA-Powertest is independent of manufacturers and suppliers, the laboratory provides accurate measurement results of equipment performance and true third-party testing, certification and inspection services. KEMA-Powertest test reports and type test certificates are recognized and accepted by manufacturers, utilities and end users of electrical power equipment worldwide. The laboratory has two short circuit generators, rated 1000 MVA and 2250 MVA, a 1000 kV impulse generator, a 600 kV power frequency test set, a 13 kA thermal supply, and other associated test equipment.

In order to stay on the leading edge of the technology, KEMA-Powertest continuously invests in new equipment and improved testing techniques as well as in the training of its personnel. The laboratory is accredited to ISO 17025 by the American Association of Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). KEMA-Powertest can also provide proposals and quotes and assist with test programs to be performed at the KEMA High Power or High Voltage Laboratories in the Netherlands or can handle programs that come from overseas in good coordination with same labs.
Coming from an industrial tradition KEMA-Powertest is optimized for development and customization tests. It offers flexibility, a large range of tests, availability of assembly bay and machine workshop and nowadays web-supported remote witnessing of tests.

In addition to quality electrical and mechanical testing services, KEMA-Powertest can offer some field-testing, engineering consulting services such as failure investigations related to switchgear equipment and cables and building of lab facilities. Its close relationship with KEMA Consulting supports the broad range of requests that can be handled.

Located 25 miles north of the City of Philadelphia, KEMA-Powertest can be conveniently reached by major airlines or by rail and it is logistically in close proximity to US main industry area.
