Fleet operation with electric vehicles
SaxMobility
Electric Mobility in Pilot Regions— a development program run by the German Federal Ministry for Transport, Building, and Urban Development within the context of the federal government’s National Electro-Mobility Development Plan—is funded with 115 million Euros from the second economic rescue package. Saxony is one of eight model regions in which joint projects and mobility concepts from manufacturers, research institutes, service providers, and infrastructure operators will be developed and implemented. The goal is for Saxony to play a key role within Germany in the development of electric-powered mobility.
Project
Among the underlying goals of this project are increasing public awareness and acceptance of electric-powered mobility, implementing an intelligent infrastructure for the supply of electric energy for vehicles, developing new market models for fleet operators, and investigating electric-powered mobility and its suitability for daily use. For this project, about 40 electric-powered vehicles will be obtained and approximately 65 charging stations, along with their accompanying information and communication technology, will be erected in Dresden and Leipzig.
Objectives
> Conducting a practical trial of electric-powered vehicles and charging infrastructure for fleet interconnections > Surveying the basic conditions needed for the cost- and energy-efficient implementation of electric-powered vehicles
> Performing a detailed investigation of electric-powered vehicles and their system components to develop a mobile measurement system
> Developing intelligent management systems, services, and infrastructure components
> Developing a concept to manage supply networks, connection points, and registration and control systems that will integrate electric-powered vehicle fleets within the infrastructure
> Creating a concept for load management
> Preparing new ports and process descriptions
> Performing public relations work and identifying potential user groups
