Energy Efficiency Plans

KEMA has a broad involvement with activities pertaining to energy efficiency improvement

Long-term agreements on energy efficiency

The long-term agreements on energy efficiency (LTA3 fornon-ETS companies and LEE for EU-ETS companies) areagreements between the Dutch government and thesecompanies on the more effective and efficient use of energyfor the period 2005 – 2020. The covenants were signedby almost all inter-branch organizations such as thechemical, petroleum, metal, sugar, paper and glass industries.

The objective of the covenant is for the participating companies to make a significant contribution to improve the energy efficiency through the year 2020. Every company has committed itself to establish an Energy Efficiency Plan (EEP) for the period 2009 – 2012 which has to be updated every 4 years. The Dutch government offers support with the drafting of these EEP's through the implementing organization Agentschap NL (former SenterNovem). Agentschap NL does this with the help and assistance of external advisors, such as KEMA.

What does KEMA have to offer you?

KEMA has a broad involvement with activities pertaining to the improvement of energy efficiency and is also often a pioneer of energy efficiency innovations, both in the local market as well as abroad. Based on the desired expertise and need for assistance, a team of experienced KEMA employees can be consulted. As a result, you can expect:

Effective and expert assistance with drafting or helping you with your EEP, from the first step through the definite approval,

Suggestions for innovative ways to reduce energy consumption,

Access to specialized knowledge concerning energy-related issues,

Effective communication and content-related contributions, because the majority of the KEMA employees involved with EEP's have worked in the chemical industry themselves,

A source of guidance when dealing with complex procedures, such as conducting studies, obtaining licenses, procuring financing and achieving acceptance of innovative technologies.
