Geothermal Energy
KEMA's 30 years experience in geothermal energy makes us your ideal partner in every step of your geothermal energy projects
Geothermal energy is still one of the less applied forms of renewable energy with the capability to provide base-load power. However, geothermal power is one of those renewable energy sources providing both heat and power.
There are different technical possibilities and temperature levels in geothermal energy utilization. Near-surface geothermal energy can be used in combination with heat-pumps to cover the base load in heating systems, whereas, with deep geothermal energy, even process heat and electricity can be delivered. Deep geothermal energy projects require an extensive period in planning and building.
In near-surface applications for heating and air-conditioning of buildings the economics can be optimized by coupling the extraction of geothermal energy with heat and cold storage in the ground.
KEMA has gained geothermal energy experience over the past 30 years. We provide studies for governments and help our clients to bring their geothermal projects to success. We offer you our following engineering services:
feasibility studies
conceptual studies
