Footprint Reduction
KEMA's expertise in the field of footprint reduction strategies can help you move towards a sustainable energy future
Reducing the ecological footprint of the industry is another challenge for the years to come. KEMA developed a footprint reduction strategy for Gasunie involving for example the execution of technical benchmarks and energy audits.
A practical contribution towards sustainable gas transmission and footprint reduction is the concept of recompression. So called recompression units act as a mobile “compressor station” in cases where depressurization of a pipeline is required. Standard procedure in these cases is to vent the gas into the atmosphere, which leads to harmful natural gas emission. Based on this concept the extracted gas from one pipeline is recompressed into another pipeline, providing a contribution to issues like footprint reduction.
