Your rotating electrical machines are used in situations where there is a danger of explosion. Your customers are known for their meticulousness and extremely safe way of working. And that’s why you won’t take any risks either. If your explosion-proof electrical machine has to be repaired and/or reconditioned, then you only allow this to be done by a company that can confer the R Label to the equipment. In other words, a repair and/or reconditioning company that has been certified by KEMA.
KEMA is the certification house in the Netherlands with knowledge of the components that are used in conditions where there is a risk of explosion. Any organization certified by KEMA demonstrates that it works in accordance with the prevailing standards. And anyone that can show this may affix the R Label to the repaired and/or reconditioned rotating electrical machine that has been designed to be explosion-proof. This makes it clear to everyone that the machine again complies with the original criteria of the type test certificate (ATEX).

Brussels has designated KEMA as Notified Body for the ATEX Directive. KEMA has the knowledge, expertise, and independent position necessary to act as a certifying organization in this specialized market. In cooperation with the sector organization UNETO-VNI, a practical certification regime has been set up that guarantees safe and meticulous operation within this line of business.
KEMA has been intensively involved since 1992 in setting up safety directives protecting electrical equipment from explosion.

As Notified Body, we grant CE for new equipment according to the ATEX Directive. When an R Label is put on such equipment at a later date, it once again demonstrates compliance with this Directive
