Your electrical products are used in environments where there is a risk of explosion. You operate worldwide and you know how difficult it can be to gain acceptance in individual countries. The IECEx programme can help you with this. The objective of this programme is to make it easier for you to trade in products for use in environments where there is a risk of explosion.
The IECEx programme is a voluntary programme based on international (IEC) standards for products that are to be used in environments where there is a risk of explosion. The IECEx accredited Certification Bodies accept each other’s test reports, which considerably speeds up the process of achieving national certification. KEMA has been accredited for the IECEx programme as a Certification Body and as a Testing Laboratory, so that KEMA is able to carry out the entire IECEx certification process. This complete IECEx certification process consists of a construction assessment and/or the testing of a sample, an initial audit of the quality assurance system in place at the production location and the continuous supervision of this quality assurance system. KEMA is accredited for the IECEx programme, is a Notified Body for the ATEX Directive and also has cooperation agreements with international test institutes, so that your products will gain access to a multitude of markets.

- A relatively large number of countries do not have any national legislation concerning explosion protection, while an internationally recognized certification is requested. IECEx certification can offer the solution.
- The IECEx programme offers direct access to the markets of Australia and New Zeeland.
- Relatively small, national markets also get access to your products and technologies with the IECEx programme.
