KEMA is Notified Body for the 94/9/EC Directive, the ATEX Directive, and as an independent party can establish whether your product complies with this directive. If it does, then you’ll have access to the European market. Through our close cooperation with FM and CSA, it’s also possible to have KEMA evaluate your products according to North American criteria, which would then give you access to the North American market. 

A KEMA product certificate proves that an independent party has established that your product complies with the most stringent explosion-proof criteria. And with this you’ll receive access to the European and North American markets because KEMA test results are accepted on both sides of the Atlantic. So when we approve your products according to the (statutory) FM and CSA criteria and the ATEX Directive, an enormous market without trade barriers is open to you.
