You put a great machine on the market. One that does the
job safer, easier, and better. But the question is whether the
European Commission is just as ecstatic with your product as the
market is. An independent test to see whether it complies with the
European Machine Directive will avoid a lot of hassle later on.
Sometimes this testing is even mandatory. You can reduce your
product liability risks via KEMA. KEMA is Notified Body for the Machine Directive. You can come to
us for the mandatory Annex 4 (dangerous) machines and a voluntary
test of “ordinary” machines. If material is fed by hand and there is a danger of injury, then
your product generally falls into the mandatory category. For
example, we can test your planing machines and saws as well as
press and milling machines to the Machine Directive. And if they
comply with this Directive, you may then apply CE and the European
market is open to you. More and more manufacturers are voluntarily choosing CE testing
at KEMA. Possibly you don’t have the time and knowledge. Or perhaps
you simply want the extra assurance of an independent expert. That
could stand you in good stead later on if – in the unlikely event –
you are held liable. After all, when people work with tools it’s
impossible to completely rule out accidents. The added assurance of CE testing by
KEMA - In the case of mandatory CE testing (Annex 4 of the Machine
Directive), you can count on our maximum cooperation for the
planning and testing trajectory
- KEMA is reliable, competent, and has 75 years of experience in
testing manually operated (electrical) tools
KEMA is also the right - and reliable - place for
non-electrical tools - Naturally, we also do mandatory reviews of safety components
that protect danger zones (pressure mats, light screens, and
emergency switches)
- Moreover, you benefit from KEMA’s reputable name in talks with
your customers
- You determine what should happen in the case of voluntary
testing. From an evaluation of the technical file to the testing of
the end product
- In the event of disputes, a KEMA assessment gives you a good
point of departure. It demonstrates that you have chosen the
thorough, meticulous road.
KEMA employs a flexible method of working and makes a concerted
effort to take your planning and processes into account as much as
possible. For instance, you can easily combine your CE
assessment with other (safety) tests such as KEMA-KEUR, explosion
hazard tests or EMC. Even if you primarily produce or export to the American
market you can make combinations between cCSAus and CE. And
that’s killing two birds with one stone – or two markets with one
trajectory! For more information about CE marking on
