As the manufacturer, after the date of change of the standard concerned you can no longer use the certificate from KEMA to support the EC declaration of conformity. The certificate doesn’t actually expire. A certificate only expires if there is no (longer a) legal basis for the certificate, or if the certificate was issued in error. When the harmonised standards change, the legal basis (the ATEX directive) remains unchanged. A certificate issued in error expires if after issuance it appears that the product does not actually meet the essential safety requirements. The manufacturer (if the route given in Annex VIII of the ATEX directive is followed) and/or the Notified Body (if the route given in Annex III or IX is followed) has/have made a mistake during the evaluation. The certificate must then be withdrawn. Your KEMA certificate therefore does not expire as a result of the changing standards. Back
