KEMA inspects large machines on site

Outline 2-2004

Exporters to the United States and Canada can have their large machines inspected in the factory in which the machine is manufactured. This saves them a time-consuming and expensive trip to an inspection laboratory. KEMA is the only organisation in Europe which can perform this CSA Field Certification.

In order to gain access to the North American market, European manufacturers must hold a CSA certificate. Mass-produced appliances such as kitchen mixers and drills are subjected to extensive tests in laboratories in this context. Transporting large machines to an inspection laboratory is a major undertaking. Even more so as these are often only produced in small numbers or as one-offs, according to customer specifications.

On site inspection
The alternative is an inspection on site. The machine in question is then tested in the factory by independent experts, who have a great deal of experience with CSA certification. In the event that they encounter a part or construction which does not meet the requirements, the manufacturer can find a solution on the spot. This solution can then immediately be inspected. Saving a considerable amount of money and time.

KEMA offers this service especially for exporters to North America. KEMA is the only inspection and certification institute in Europe which can carry out this CSA Field Certification.
