Information about requirements for lighting chains and rope lights 2006

In April 2002, amendment 2 of the IEC 60598-2-20 has come into force describing a number of important modifications regarding the requirements for Christmas Lighting. As from April 2004, this amendment has also been accepted as European standard 60598-2-20. In addition, the CTL and OSM interpretation panels took a number of decisions. Furthermore a change in the GS requirements will effect the testing and certification of Christmas Lighting.

All these requirements are already effective and apply to existing as well as new applications for approval. The requirements will be taken into account for testing and Pre-Shipment Inspections in 2006.

Being your certification partner, we feel the need to clarify the present situation on testing and certification requirements for Christmas Lighting. Please download the documents below or contact  us for more information.
