Products and Processes

Advertise your image, not your recalls!

You do business all over the world. Buying and selling your products consists of a long chain of transactions. Your risks lie primarily in “transfer moments.” After all, semimanufactured products and components pass through a great many hands before the end product is ready for use and is lifted out of the box by the consumer.

What you always want to avoid is a recall action. Being forced to take a product off the market simply because one of your suppliers didn’t stick to the agreements and now the entire product is unsafe. Or because the equipment doesn’t do what the customer expected. A lawnmower that is safe, but that doesn’t cut grass obviously means you’ll get it back as unsaleable. This is not only a hefty debit entry, it also damages your reputation and is detrimental to your customers. It goes without saying that you want to limit the risks as much as possible during these transfer moments in the production chain. Did the supplier fully understand you? How airtight are your agreements? Are you actually getting what you expect? And even more important: is your customer getting the product that you promised?

Reducing the risks
KEMA minimizes geographic distances and language and cultural differences by a local presence. We have insight into the factors that increase your risks. We’re familiar with your problems: working with interpreters, the local procedures, and legislation. It makes doing business so much more complicated. Sometimes there are different ideas about safety, quality, and ethics. Realizing this is one thing, being able to deal with it wisely is a different kettle of fish entirely. Because unfortunately it turns out all too often that you’re not always able to take charge of everything. In fact, you need more hands and eyes. And because there’s only one of you, this can lead to unacceptable delays or even misunderstandings that can permanently damage your market position or your image. We’re there to advise and assist you.
