KEMA executive receives 2009 IEPEC Lifetime Achievement Award
Dr. Miriam Goldberg recognized for energy services evaluation contributions
BURLINGTON, Mass.(August 28, 2009) – KEMA (www.kema.com) senior vice president Dr. Miriam Goldberg was awarded the 2009International Energy Program Evaluation Conference (IEPEC) Lifetime Achievement Award. She has been recognized by her industry colleagues and clients for her leadership in, and contributions to energy efficiency and demand response programs and energy services.
Recipients of the biannual IEPEC Lifetime Achievement Award are nominated by colleagues and clients for their significant contributions to the energy services evaluation field. In presenting the award, IEPEC Board President, Pierre Landry highlighted the number and enthusiasm of the letters endorsing Dr. Goldberg as a candidate. Among her many achievements noted in the endorsements were significant intellectual contributions to the industry, often made while collaborating with others, frequent presentations at conferences where she shares her current thinking and thrives on open debate regarding broad and methodological issues, role as a mentor to many successful professionals in the industry, and integrity and professionalism.

Dr. Goldberg leads the firm’s sustainable market strategies with a focus on energy efficiency, demand response and renewable energy program planning and evaluation, and market strategies and analysis. Dr. Goldberg joined KEMA in 1992 as senior manager of statistical research. A pioneer in energy efficiency program evaluation with over 30 years of experience, Dr. Goldberg has directed a wide range of program studies including commercial/industrial, low-income, general residential, and load management. She is recognized in the industry as a leader in application of statistical methods to program evaluation such as sample design, surveys and modeling.
Dr. Goldberg is an author of dozens of peer-reviewed articles on evaluation and analysis methods related to customer energy use, as well as being a key contributor to several guidebooks and manuals on these methods... She holds a BA in mathematics from Harvard University, a MSE in mechanical and aerospace engineering and PhD in statistics, both from Princeton University.
Dr. Goldberg received the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award on August 12, 2009 at the IEPEC 2009 conference in Portland, Oregon.
