KEMA discusses smart grids with Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO Dubai Electricity and Water Authority
KEMA and DEWA share several fields of interest

His Excellency Saeed Mohamed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and Thijs Aarten, Chairman of the Executive Board of KEMA, have met in DEWA’s headquarters to discuss several topical energy subjects.
The meeting has followed from Aarten’s participation

in the
Dubai Global Energy Forum 2011, where he delivered a key-note speech on reducing carbon emissions via smart grids. The meeting was attended by Dr. Floris Schulze, Managing Director of KEMA Middle East.
During the meeting, Thijs Aarten briefed H.E Al Tayer on several joint fields of interest, especially
smart energy,
smart grids,
carbon management,
energy efficiency,
power transmission, and enhancing power transmission grids.
KEMA and DEWA have a longstanding relationship. In 2007 for instance, commissioned by DEWA, KEMA
designed the energy supply system before the islands project
‘The World’, for the coast of Dubai.
