KEMA to brief Spain interests on opportunities, approaches to the US energy and utility market

KEMA is providing insights into the current situation and opportunities for Spanish firms in the United States energy and utility market. Senior executives from KEMA’s US consulting operations (KEMA, Inc.) will be featured speakers at a seminar sponsored by the Madrid Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior (ICEX), PromoMadrid, Cámara de Comercio e Industria de Madrid (COCIM) and CEIM.

The seminar, “Energy in the US after the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA): A Practical Guide for Spanish Companies,” is being held on Tuesday, 13 October 2009 in Madrid. Over 40 managers from government, industry associations, utilities, engineering firms, manufacturers and others with interests in the energy and utility industry will be joining KEMA to discuss internationalization of Spanish companies in the US.

KEMA, Inc. President and Managing Director, Hugo van Nispen, will present on “Energy challenges in the US and how can it be a model for Spain.”

KEMA, Inc. Senior Vice President, Power Generation Services, Kevin Sullivan, will present on “Obama's Recovery Plan: Balance of 2009 and perspectives on 2010.”

In the US, KEMA has been actively engaged in advising the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the US Congress as a member of the DOE Electricity Advisory Committee. KEMA executives also serve on the boards of cross industry alliances to influence energy policies and standards, including smart grid and energy storage. KEMA has been a leader in advising utility and energy technology clients on ARRA stimulus funding applications and on new market entry strategies to the US energy market.
