KEMA recognized for high-impact sustainability consulting.
Winner of Green and Sustainable Business Award 2008.
November 18 – KEMA’s sustainable buildings and operations practice was one of 18 recipients of the East Bay Business Times 2008 Green and Sustainable Business Award. The award honors companies that have invented technologies that further the green movement or have distinguished themselves by implementing high-impact sustainable practices in their business operations. The award was presented at a ceremony held at the Claremont Resort in Berkeley, California on October 16.
Andrea Traber, director of sustainable buildings and operations located in KEMA’s Oakland, California office, accepted the award. Traber was featured in a full page interview about KEMA’s sustainability practice in the East Bay Business Times October 17, 2008 issue (article available at: www.kema.com/green_buildings).
“Green buildings, whether new or existing, are a major force in achieving sustainability and tackling climate change,” said Traber. “We work with building owners, developers, design and construction teams, the public sector, and utilities to provide cost-effective solutions that deliver a high environmental and economic return on investment.”
KEMA’s sustainable buildings and operations practice has more than doubled its business and staff over the last year. As the market potential continues to expand, KEMA’s services have also grown to include cross-sector services with KEMA Registered Quality providing LEED ® certification. The firm has also added new offices and staff in San Diego, California and in Burlington, Massachusetts.
