KEMA took part in last February’s Middle East Electricity in Dubai, the leading event of its kind in the world. KEMA’s participation in this annual networking event offered the organization the opportunity to meet (potential) customers in person and discuss areas of mutual interest, business opportunities and product compliance issues. KEMA's stand at the Exhibition was supplemented by a presentation in which KEMA’s Kasper Nijkamp reviewed the role of low voltage panel certification in the Gulf. ‘Being there and meeting the key-decision makers from all over the GCC is extremely valuable,’ in Nijkamp’s opinion. ‘The exhibition was extremely busy, and we welcomed a lot of visitors at our stand. The presentation attracted the mixed audience we had hoped for. Every link in the low voltage panel supply chain of a was represented by one or more companies.' Long supply chain
Component manufacturers, panel builders, consultants and regulators/utility companies that stipulate the requirements, took notice of the difference between type testing and the certification programs KEMA-KEUR and KEMA World Panel Program. 'The subsequent discussions confirm that a low voltage panel is the product of a long supply chain and that in practice testing and certification can be grey areas,' adds Nijkamp. 'This in turn proves the need for transparant testing and certification measures at different levels, to achieve various degrees of risk reduction.Consequently this issue will receive our continuous attention.’
