Manufacturers who want to test their electrical and electronics products in their own laboratories can now have the quality of this control process certified by KEMA according to the ISO 17025 standard. This gives them more certainty that their products meet all the requirements. The international standard ISO 17025 specifies the criteria that a laboratory must fulfill. Among other things, the standard sets requirements for the quality of the management system, the accuracy of the measurement process and the technical competence of the people who carry out the tests. To allow its customers to take advantage of its expertise, KEMA has developed a process for certifying other laboratories according to ISO 17025. Major manufacturers of electrical and electronic appliances often have their own testing laboratory. When these internal tests are carried out adequately, the chance is smaller that the product will be rejected later by a certifying body.
