In October KEMA’s test lab in Guangzhou obtained its laboratory accreditation in the IECEE conformity assessment scheme for testing household appliances and lighting equipment. Furthermore KEMA’s Hong Kong lab has expanded its scope. This accreditation and scope expansion have enabled KEMA to serve Chinese and foreign electrical equipment and component manufacturers even better. Until recently KEMA Guangzhou could test household equipment and lighting according to IEC standards, but the test results could only be used for granting the KEMA-KEUR approval mark. Now next to the KEMA-KEUR mark, a manufacturer can use the CB Test Certificate to obtain approval marks from other Certification Bodies in the IECEE scheme. In this IECEE scheme, the certification bodies have agreed to recognize one another’s test results, so that a manufacturer does not need to go through the entire test cycle again. Expansion Hong Kong
Hong Kong is already a step ahead. During a re-evaluation of the 2003 accreditation they immediately requested a scope expansion for audiovisual equipment, office IT equipment, game computers and low-voltage transformers. Internationally recognized certificates for these components are in great demand.
