The on-line service not only provides details about the prevailing standards; it also contains information on the history of earlier standards. The information also extends to changes in the standards, where relevant, as well as the dates on which each standard comes into force or is rescinded. A straightforward menu enables visitors to select the relevant product category and subgroup. This displays the standards applicable to the product. This service will be of particular boon to buyers and manufacturers, since they are offered an immediate insight into the standards governing a specific product. In addition, they can verify that the product has received certification in accordance with the latest standard. This latter information is also of use to component suppliers of parts for assembly in equipment.
