Platform Energy and Environment Technology informs Members of Parliament about activities
24 April - Six Dutch Members of Parliament made a working visit to the province of Gelderland on Monday 21st April within the framework of the EMT project, a regional network of dozens of companies in this sector. The purpose of the visit was to inform the MPs about the innovation strength of companies in this area. KEMA, which acted as host, is one of the initiators of this network.
The goal of the EMT project is to turn Gelderland into an economically flourishing energy and environment technology center. The project is directed by the KIEMT foundation (Knowledge and Innovation in Energy and Environment Technology). Of the directors of this foundation is Gerd Enoch, a KEMA business unit director.
Ambitions
Gelderland Transition Center The Gelderland energy and environment technology companies, together with regional education institutions and the regional government, have the ambition to make a firm contribution to the European 20-20-20 targets: 20% less CO2 emissions and a 20% share of sustainable energy in the year 2020. To that end they want set up a Gelderland Transition Center (GTC). This GTC focuses on the development, sharing and application of knowledge in the field of energy and the environment.
Impressed
The parliamentary delegation consisted of members of two permanent parliamentary commissions, namely that of Economic Affairs and VROM. Delegation leader Koopmans (CDA) expressed how impressed he was by the innovative character of the region.
