An increase in the CB certification possibilities for KEMA Guangzhou

KEMA test lab has been granted a wider scope for testing and certification for CB
From July 2008 onwards, KEMA’s CB test laboratory in Guangzhou, China, will be able to perform CB tests for ICT and office equipment, transformers, home entertainment products and electrical appliances. The KEMA test laboratory’s accreditation has been widened thanks to a move to a larger laboratory in Guangzhou. Since the new premises have doubled the previous capacity, this KEMA branch is able to provide an even better service to local manufacturers and European retail or wholesale organizations. Previously, the CB testing possibilities were limited to domestic appliances and lighting.
Manufacturers can use the CB test certificate to obtain quality marks from other certification institutes who participate in the IECEE program. Within this program, the various certification institutes recognize each other’s test results. The laboratory in Guangzhou was already an official CB test laboratory (CBTL), which means that products are tested against IECEE standards. If a product meets these standards, then it may be introduced in various countries. A product type is only tested once and the certificate is issued for an indefinite period of time. If an alteration is made to the product, then it must be retested by a CBTL.
Wide range of services
Thanks to the expansion of the CB certification possibilities, KEMA Quality Guangzhou is now able to offer a wide range of services. The branch is located close to the largest production regions in China. KEMA offers local support and direct contact with the project manager. This results in the quick completion of the product certification process, so that the time to market is as short as possible and the tested products can be made available to consumers more quickly.
