Wishing to have a presence closer to its industrial clients in the southern Dutch province of Limburg, KEMA is opening an office there, at the Businesspark Stein near the Chemelot business park. From this base, KEMA will provide technical and operational consultancy services to companies such as Sabic, DSM, EdeA and Essent.South Limburg is a key industrial region. In addition to international chemicals giants Sabic and DSM, it is home to the energy companies Essent and Nuon, and to the industrial concerns Sappi, Akzo and EdeA. It is also strategically placed adjacent to economic hubs in Germany (Aachen) and Belgium (Liège). What the companies listed above have in common is that they produce, distribute and/or consume energy and water in very large quantities. KEMA’s core activities are therefore extremely relevant to them. Not surprisingly, many are already KEMA clients. Local presence
KEMA has made a strategic decision to establish a more local presence. From its new Limburg office, KEMA will provide energy and water-related services in connection with energy production, power application and chemical processes. Support will also be provided to clients looking to trade CO2 and NOx emission rights. Other important activity fields will include general consultancy, trading system maintenance, high-voltage component support and the implementation of procedures and models.
