KEMA takes over TNO’s Notified Body activities for medical devices, active implantable medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics. This acquisition further strengthens KEMA’s global position as one of the leading certification bodies for medical devices and makes KEMA one of the key players in the in-vitro diagnostic certification business. Manufacturers can more rapidly and efficiently sell their products on the world market through the use of this worldwide organization and profit from KEMA’s one-stop-shopping concept.

The activities of TNO are a good addition to KEMA’s existing activities in this market. This acquisition strengthens KEMA’s position in its home market The Netherlands, North-America, Asia and a number of European countries.

KEMA offers its certification services on a global basis from locations in more than 10 countries. KEMA has  already a position as one of the leading Notified Bodies for medical devices worldwide, which will be strengthened further with this take-over. In addition, TNO’s strong position in the certification market for in-vitro diagnostic devices (IVD) will further broaden KEMA’s competences and service portfolio.
