Cross functional focus and expertise an asset for utilities building for the future

KEMA has appointed Hugo van Nispen president of KEMA Consulting in the United States. Mr. van Nispen will lead a new phase in KEMA’s growth strategy to further position KEMA as a leader in utility consulting services.

Mr. van Nispen first joined KEMA in 2003 and built a successful practice leading KEMA clients through comprehensive plans to optimize operations and reduce costs. His 20 years of management consulting expertise has helped strengthen KEMA’s ability to integrate deep technical and functional capabilities with management expertise and position the firm as a leading provider of solutions that deliver profitable, reliable and sustainable results.

'I am fortunate to be leading a strong management team at KEMA with keen insights into the directions utilities may want to take to ensure their growth and profitability in the decades ahead,' said van Nispen. 'We are focusing KEMA on building long-term relationships and offering the management and technical expertise to help utility clients evaluate risks, determine strategies, plan and implement a solid vision for growth.'

With the focus for many utilities on building for the future, van Nispen’s cross-functional experience will be invaluable in bringing together the right mix of expertise to help utilities make complex decisions. In the year ahead, van Nispen will focus on further integrating KEMA’s range of expertise in three key areas: smart grid and advanced metering services, sustainable energy practices, and asset management. As the industry builds new infrastructure and responds to public concerns over climate change and other environmental issues.
