The Electricity Technology Roadmap Initiative is a KEMA initiative to see how the transition towards a knowledge-based economy and a sustainable society should be managed. The aim is to assess the ongoing collaborative research and technological advancement, the exploration of the opportunities and the threats to electricity-based innovations over the next twenty-five years. About 100 organizations have participated with KEMA in shaping a comprehensive vision of the opportunities to structure the knowledge-based economy in the Digital Society, with the increase in the value of electricity to society as a basis. The first document, "the technical background document", summarizes all input from the workshops. This report is written in English and gives more detailed information on background technologies.
