Multifunctional Advanced carbon aluminum Composite for Electricity transport
The MACE project is the successor of the COPREM project (1998-2001). In both projects a high tension conductor material is developed with increased capacity. As conductor material a carbon fiber reinforced aluminum is developed with characteristics of increased conductivity with the same weight and a decreased camber at increased temperatures. From approximately 70 °C the camber remains constant at raising temperatures. MACE: further development, testing, approving and application of a new composite cable of carbon and aluminum for the electricity distribution.
