Assessing and monitoring the quality of your project can improve the control on cost, planning and quality. Successful system design and component projects require vigilant quality assurance for major capital expenditures, such as construction of substations, transmission lines or power plants. Product quality The manufacturer’s ISO certificate relates to the internal organization, rather than to the physical quality of a particular product for a given project. International standards and client-specific requirements cover the physical quality of a product. Since physical quality cannot be addressed by general process certification of the project in total, quality assessment and monitoring of a given project is required. ISO 8402 - Quality Surveillance According to ISO 8402 the quality surveillance is a continual monitoring and verification of the status of project and analysis of records to ensure the specified requirements are being fulfilled.
To prevent problems coming to light at an advanced stage of a project, it is necessary to start monitoring the quality as early as possible. For example during the preparation of the project if the technical order specifications are not correctly specified, the component may not satisfy the requirements. This can result in spending considerable time and money to find solutions and correct the problem. KEMA has a team of project managers, consultants, specialists, engineers and inspectors who can support you throughout the various stages of the project. As summarized in the diagram we can support and direct the entire quality surveillance process from feasibility study to commissioning on both the project level and component level. Our quality assessment and monitoring service projects include: - 380 kV GIS substations
- 380 kV phase shifter
- 220/380 kV capacitor banks
- 66 kV GIS substation
