Gas turbine technology training courses

Gas turbine training course

Gas turbines are important for power generation in Germany. Gas turbine performance, including maintenance and operational costs, is however dramatically influenced by utilization, fuels and environmental factors. Therefore, gas turbine users at all levels require specialist knowledge to make the right decisions on maintenance and operation strategy. This KEMA course is designed for personnel involved with gas turbines and associated machinery in the power generation utilities, the oil and gas utilities and the process industry. For this training course no formal qualifications are required but a technical background and some experience in these fields or with (gas) turbine technology is desirable.
The key instructor of this unique course is Prof.-Dr.-Ing. Dieter E. Bohn, head of the 'Institut für Dampf- und Gasturbinetechnologie' of the Aachen Technical University (RWTH).
Course Highlights:
  • Overview of gas turbines
  • Gas turbine technology
  • Axial flow turbomachinery
  • Compressor fouling, cleaning and air filtration
  • Combustors, materials and fuels
  • Condition monitoring and maintenance
  • Performance testing and evaluation

4-Day General Gas Turbine Technology training course

Gas turbine performances, including the maintenance and operating costs are primarily determined by dispatch, type of fuel and ambient conditions. Gas turbine power plant operators have to possess expert knowledge for taking the right decisions concerning operation and maintenance.
The key instructor of this course is Prof.-Dr.-Ing. Dieter E. Bohn, head of the 'Institut für Dampf- und Gasturbinetechnologie' of the Aachen Technical University (RWTH).
Course highlights:
  • Gas turbine technology theory
  • Performance and optimization of gas turbine cycles
  • Compressor and power turbine characteristics
  • Guarantee and performance measurements
  • Performance monitoring
  • On-line diagnostics
  • Compressor fouling and air filtration
  • On-line and off-line compressor cleaning
  • Materials and coatings: monitoring and refurbishment
  • Emissions of gas turbines
