Failure analysis & diagnostics

Failure analysis & diagnostics

It never rains but it pours. This old saying is certainly applicable to failure in complex industrial installations. It is therefore important that answers are always found to a number of important questions: What is the failure cause? Is subsequent failure likely to occur and if so, how can it be prevented? And are we dealing here with an incident or is there a structural defect, or unanticipated omission in daily operation?
KEMA has more than twenty-five years of experience in failure analysis of boilers, turbines, rotating equipment, pipeline systems and other industrial installations. But the KEMA failure analysis experts also closely watch relatively new developments. Consequently, they are familiar with constructions and high-grade materials of relatively new installations, such as gas turbines, wind turbines and flue gas desulphurization plants.
KEMA's failure analysis experts are not alone in all this. They make use of advanced equipment and are supported by staff from well-equipped laboratories. Through preliminary consultation with experts in other disciplines on failure occurring previously the experts may also have access to information from different fields, such as electrical and mechanical engineering, chemistry and physics.
KEMA has received a quality accreditation for quality control services, based upon all criteria from EN 54004, ISO Guide 39 and relevant criteria from ISO 9001/2.
