Review strength, stiffness and dynamic behaviour and test against applicable codes of design
The design of major components in power plants have to comply with applicable codes of design. We review installations in both design and operational modes on the basis of general and specific codes of design and material behavior. Furthermore we identify and quantify material degradation in an installation during the operational phase e.g. as a result of creep, fatigue, erosion and corrosion and the accelerated progress by interaction thereof. Design reviews cover issues like:- strength and stiffness: deform and/or crack, fracture mechanics, plasticity, creep
- stability: buckling
- dynamic behavior: rotor dynamics, own frequencies, resonance, response, fatigue
