In-depth knowledge of many types of equipment and damage mechanisms
Based on the present condition of equipment or components and analysis of the prevailing damage mechanisms that are threatening the integrity and availability, the remaining life expectation is assessed. KEMA disposes of in depth knowledge of many types of equipment and damage mechanisms such as creep, thermal and mechanical fatigue, corrosion, erosion and general wear. This knowledge is largely acquired by another service of KEMA: failure and root cause analysis. KEMA has developed several tools to monitor the rate of degradation:- SPICA for creep rate of base metal and heat affected zones
- high-temperature strain gauges
- KEMCOP for fireside corrosion
- KEMBUS and KEMWAT for wall thickness
- replica examination for creep damage, defect analysis, micro structural changes.
