Condition monitoring, diagnostics and life management of gas turbines

Condition monitoring, life management and diagnostics of gas turbines

Combined heat and power plants are major investments and remain in operation for many years. A gas turbine is not only the most powerful, but also the most critical component of such power plants. When it comes to operational matters, good performance without failures and low emissions are core issues. In the field of maintenance, other priorities are set: short outages, low costs, and reliable inspection results are key words. How can you assess this if you were not there during the (new) construction of the plant? The technological developments happen in rapid succession. How do I know if I still possess state-of-the-art technology?

Questions and problems that require answers and solutions. And always the same dilemma: the best solution at a reasonable price and realized in the shortest time possible. Can I do it all by myself? Do I have to go to a different company for each problem ? Or is it possible to take all my problems to one consultant? A partner who can help me solve these problems efficiently and effectively?

KEMA is the experienced and impartial partner to think and act together with you. KEMA operates internationally as a consultant, independent engineer or client's representative. Our consultants have the knowledge, experience and creative skills to provide you with valuable advice and tools for optimum asset management. To comfort you, KEMA brought all its strenghts related to gas turbines together, divided in three fields of expertise: OperationsMaintenance, and Construction and R&D.

Over the next decade, KEMA will witness and supervise the capacity tests at all power and water plants in Abu Dhabi. Under the privitasation scheme, these plants undergo an annual 24-hour test to determine their net dependable power and water output capacity. The test results should be in line with the values agreed upon in the power and water purchase contracts between the plant owners and ADWEC.
