Environmental impact statements and licence applications
The preparation of an environmental impact statement (EIS) is a crucial element of the procedure for obtaining a permit for a process or production plant. EISs inform decision-making in relation to activities that have potentially serious implications for the environment. An EIS has to systematically and objectively describe the impact that an activity is expected to have. In its role as an independent consultant, KEMA has built up considerable experience with the preparation of EISs for projects in fields such as energy supply, biomass and waste processing, residue reuse, other industrial processes and policy planning. We are also able to offer support to clients seeking to obtain permits for plants of various kinds.

KEMA supports company managers and executives with the preparation of annual environmental reports and collation of the data necessary for their compilation. It is important that such a report is linked to the business’s environmental program, so that a proper account can be given of the results obtained.
